Crow Series Wall Art

My work explores the ways in which we attempt to understand our world. Crows are a wonderfully complex icon of the search for wisdom and knowledge, in mythology and in their incredible intelligence. These are the first four paintings in this ongoing series. I will be exploring themes of Crows, and our different intelligences, for a long time. In my art process, I collage to canvas parts of photos, which I alter by cutting into various shapes, and then I paint them together into a larger series of composites united by a central idea. The organic flow of the paint, with its physicality of ridges, brush strokes, and smears, envelops the photography entirely, representing in method the melding together of perceptions, facts, and memories. ...
